Abstract: Objective:This study aims to sort out the research context related to autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and provid a basic research framework for current and future decision-making in ASD research from the perspective of information science.Methods:By taking the Mesh Subject Headings (MeSH) terms in ASD-related literatures as the main research object, this study constructed the semantic network of ASD based on the terms and their correlationship. The topics and their structural knowledge maps of ASD related literatures published before December 31, 2018 were analyzed by using word frequency statistics, co-word clustering analysis and knowledge mapping.Results:From 35 854 ASD related literatures, 1 752 high-frequency terms were extracted to construct a co-word network and further clustered as six research topics.Conclusion:In the ASD research field, six topics or branches and a rigorous system have been developed and are closely related to multi-disciplinary.
