Abstract:
Depression is a kind of mental disease that is characterized by significant and lasting low moods. Apart from medication treatment and psychotherapy, neural regulation technology also plays an important role in the treatment of depression. Many studies have shown that photobiomodulation (PBM), especially red light and near-infrared light irradiation, can treat depression and has unique advantages compared with traditional neural regulation technologies. This review briefly introduces the mechanism and clinical application of red light and near-infrared light in the treatment of depression, to provide references for the research of new treatment technology for depression.
