Gender difference in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke with edaravone dextrocamphorol injection solution

Abstract:
Objective To explore the gender difference of clinical efficacy of edaravone dextrocamphorol injection solution in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke(AIS)patients.Methods A total of 180 AIS patients treated in Inner Mongolia People's Hospital from February 2023 to January 2024 were selected and divided into female group(n=120)and male group(n=60)by gender.Clinical data of two groups were recorded,and compared with differences.Evaluation indicators included the National Institutes of Health stroke scale score before and 14d after treatment.and the neurological recovery scale score at 3 months after treatment.A adverse drug reactions and adverse events were observed in both groups.Results After 14 days of treatment with edaravone dextrocamphorol injection solution,total effective rate of female patients was better than that of male patients,difference was statistically significant(P=0.034).At 3 months follow-up after discharge,there was no significant difference in long-term prognosis between two groups,and no adverse drug reactions or drug-related adverse prognosis occurred in two groups.Conclusion Short-term clinical prognosis of female AIS patients receiving edaravone dextrocamphorol injection solution concentrated solution is better than that of male patients.There was no gender difference in long-term prognosis.
