Abstract:
The development process and academic achievements of China in the field of Parkinson′s disease and movement disorders were summarized in this article. It began in 1978 when several Chinese professors organized the National Clinical Collaboration Group for Parkinson′s Disease to conduct clinical research and academic exchanges. In 1984, the first National Academic Conference on Extrapyramidal Diseases was held in Shanghai. In 2002, the Chinese Society of Parkinson′s Disease and Movement Disorders was officially established, promoting domestic and international academic exchanges, the popularization of clinical diagnosis and treatment standards, and research progress. The society′s active participation in international and domestic academic conferences and the important role of Chinese experts in global related academic organizations were highlighted. Over the past 40 years, the society′s hard work has significantly enhanced Chinese scientific research, diagnosis and treatment, and international influence in the field of Parkinson′s disease and movement disorders. Looking to the future, the society will continue to focus on innovative research to improve academic standards and international status, bringing greater benefits to patients.
