Abstract:
Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) is the primary structural protein of all atherogenic lipoproteins and plays an irreplaceable role in the risk management of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). In recent years, guidelines and consensus statements have increasingly recommended ApoB as a secondary target for lipid-lowering therapy. Compared to traditional lipid parameters such as low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, ApoB has a more mature standardized detection system, which can better predict ASCVD and its residual risk. This article elaborates on the biochemical characteristics of ApoB, its detection methodologies and standardization, as well as its application in ASCVD risk management, aiming to highlight the clinical value and practical significance of ApoB in optimizing ASCVD risk stratification and therapeutic strategies.
