Abstract:
Since its establishment in 1979, the Chinese Society of Laboratory Medicine (CSLM) has consistently upheld its mission of disciplinary advancement. Through the cumulative efforts of eleven successive committees, it has spearheaded a strategic paradigm shift from"medical technology"to"laboratory medicine", catalyzed the evolution of laboratory systems from manual operations to full automation, and accelerated the transition into the intelligent era. These initiatives have transformed laboratory medicine from a supportive technical department into a core discipline integral to holistic disease cycle management. By systematically analyzing the 46-year developmental trajectory of CSLM, this article reviews its pivotal contributions to advancing laboratory medicine in China and outlines future directions of sustained high-quality disciplinary development of laboratory medicine in China.
