Research hotspots and future trend of healthcare data security: a literature review based on bibliometric analysis

Abstract:
Objective:To analyze the research progress and hotspots in the field of healthcare data security in China, so as to provide a theoretical basis for the safe application of healthcare big data.Methods:A systematic search of the literature in the field of healthcare data security was conducted by using bibliometric methods. The search was performed on the China Knowledge Network, the WIPO Chinese Science and Technology Journal Full-text Database, and the Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform from the establishment of the databases to Decembe 2023. Descriptive analysis and high-frequency keywords clustering analysis were conducted.Results:A total of 714 eligible articles were included. Research in the field of healthcare data security emerged since 2002, with the scope of the field expanding since then. There was a surge in publications after 2018. Through the clustering analysis of high-frequency keywords, it was found that current research on healthcare data security mainly focused on six major research hotspots: cross-domain data security sharing, data security and privacy protection, information security technology research, patients′ personal information management and privacy protection, mobile healthcare, and remote healthcare.Conclusions:The research focus in the field of healthcare data security is currently concentrated on six major aspects, including cross-domain data security sharing. It is recommended to strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation, optimize technical frameworks, further innovate data security governance methods, strengthen data security applications, and vigorously cultivate composite talents, so as to promote the research and development of China′s healthcare data security field.
