Abstract:
Complete healing of the intestinal mucosa is considered as the ultimate goal of the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). In the process of intestinal mucosal repair, growth factors play a key role in promoting mucosal inflammatory repair and initiating tissue regeneration. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is rich in hundreds of biologically active proteins and growth factors, which not only contain factors needed for mucosal healing but also provide inflammatory suppressors. This article reviews the application of PRP in mucosal healing of IBD and analyzes the related mechanism.
