Abstract:
The endoscopic examination is crucial for the diagnosis and surveillance of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) . But the current traditional endoscopic scores, including Crohn′s disease endoscopic index of severity, simple endoscopic score for Crohn′s disease, ulcerative colitis endoscopic index of severity and Mayo endoscopic score, have some limitations in clinical application. New endoscopics scores have been developed and applied in recent years, and the effect needs further observation. Taking Toronto IBD global endoscopic reporting (TIGER) score and modified Mayo endoscopic score as examples, this article will analyze the clinical application, advantages and disadvantages of traditional and new IBD endoscopic scores, and provide effective scoring basis for clinical practice.
