Abstract:
Interleukin (IL) -2 plays a dual role in immune regulation. On one hand, it can activate immune response by regulating effector cells. On the other hand, it can act on regulatory T cells to exert immunosuppressive effect. Therefore, IL-2 has become one of the therapeutic targets of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Low dose of IL-2 has been used in the treatment of some inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, but its side effects limit its clinical application. In order to improve the therapeutic effect of IL-2 and reduce the side effects, IL-2 mutant protein has been synthesized by genetic engineering technology, which provides a new possibility for the application of IL-2 in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
