Abstract:
Early and precision diagnosis of malignant tumors is crucial for reducing mortality rates.Conventional single-modality technique has certain limitations for imaging, while novel multimodal molecular imaging technologies(such as PET/CT and optical imaging)can integrate the advantages of multiple imaging methods.Through leveraging specific molecular probes, these technologies enable noninvasively, synchronously obtain multidimensional tumor characteristics, including anatomy, functional metabolism, molecular targets and microenvironment, significantly increasing the capability of accuracy of early detection and precise staging of tumors, hence driving the transformation of diagnosis and treatment of tumors toward precision and individualization, also their clinical translation. The progresses and challenges in researches of novel multimodal molecular imaging technologies for diagnosis and treatment of tumors and clinical transformation were reviewed in this article.
