- Abstract: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a group of recurrent chronic intestinal inflammatory diseases. The precise etiology of IBD remains unclear, but the inappropriate immune response is considered the leading cause of IBD. More and more studies indicated that triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells (TREM) -1 have regulated multiple signaling pathways. This review will focus specifically on recent insights into the role of TREM-1 proteins in IBD development, and discuss opportunities for novel treatment approaches.
