Abstract:
Cardiovascular diseases account for 40% of the total mortality in China. Patients′ lifestyle, mental health, medication compliance, and other factors have a significant impact on disease prognosis. The evaluation of left ventricular systolic function is crucial for the diagnosis, treatment, and risk stratification of cardiovascular diseases. Among them, left ventricular global longitudinal strain (LVGLS) is an accurate parameter for evaluating myocardial mechanics based on two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging technology. LVGLS has shown its value in the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis evaluation of cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure, coronary heart disease, cardiomyopathy, valvular heart disease, and atrial fibrillation. Meanwhile, LVGLS also plays a role in the evaluation of cardiotoxicity related to tumor therapy, providing the possibility of early diagnosis and prevention of disease progression. In conclusion, LVGLS has independent diagnostic and prognostic predictive value in various diseases, and can guide treatment decisions and monitor therapeutic effects. With the advancement of technology and standardization, LVGLS is expected to play a greater role in the management of cardiovascular diseases.
