Abstract:
Alopecia areata (AA) is an autoimmune-mediated, hair follicle-targeting, inflammatory, non-scarring hair loss. The treatment of severe AA has long been a focus and challenge. Currently, novel therapeutic agents, such as Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors, have been increasingly employed in the treatment of severe AA. This review provides an overview of new small-molecule targeted drugs and biologics for AA.
