Abstract: The aim of the education for medical students majoring in general practice is to cultivate knowledgeable and skilled medical professionals in primary care. In this aspect, the extracurricular teaching plays a pivotal role, which is not only a supplement and extension of classroom teaching, but also promotes practical ability and innovative thinking of students, and improves their comprehensive quality. However, there are still problems and challenges in operating mechanisms and teaching modes of the extracurricular teachings needed to be solved currently. This article introduces the innovation and practice of extracurricular teaching for medical students majoring in general practice in the General Medicine College of Zunyi Medical University, to provide references for collegues in other medical educational institutions.
