Abstract: Sarcopenia is a progressive loss of skeletal muscle mass associated with aging, which significantly increases the risk of falls, disability, and mortality in the elderly.The loss of muscle mass serves as a critical indicator for diagnosing sarcopenia.Ultrasound, characterized by its cost-effectiveness, portability, non-radiative nature, and repeatability, plays a vital role in assessing muscle mass.This article will review the value of ultrasound in the diagnosis of sarcopenia and explore the application of new techniques.
