Abstract:
Malignant pleural mesothelioma(MPM)is a malignant tumor with a high mortality rate, and its treatment options mainly include surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy.Currently, the combination of ipilimumab and nivolumab has been approved as the first-line immunotherapy for MPM in China, particularly for patients with unresectable,treatment-naive non-epithelioid MPM.The standard first-line chemotherapeutic regimen for unresectable MPM involves pemetrexed combined with cisplatin. However, the chemoresistance of MPM severely limits the efficacy of this regimen.Therefore,in-depth research into the chemoresistance mechanisms of MPM is crucial for prolonging patient survival. This article systematically reviews the latest research progress on the chemoresistance mechanisms of MPM,aiming to provide new insights into reversing chemoresistance and laying a solid theoretical foundation for the future development of novel combination therapies for MPM.
