Abstract:
Congenital craniosynostosis is a condition characterized by the premature fusion of cranial sutures, leading to anatomical deformities of the skull. It is classified into syndromic and nonsyndromic types. The restricted cranial space result in compression of the brain tissue by the affected skull, which may cause severe complications such as increased intracranial pressure and hydrocephalus. Early diagnosis and intervention are crucial for reducing intracranial pressure and associated complications, and they significantly improve surgical outcomes. This article summarizes the strategies for early diagnosis, major surgical treatments, perioperative management, postoperative complication management, and the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in the treatment of craniosynostosis. By synthesizing the latest research advances and clinical treatment strategies, the aim is to provide practical guidance for clinicians, optimize treatment decisions, reduce treatment costs, and enhance the quality and safety of medical services. Ultimately, this will contribute to the standardization of clinical treatment and care processes, improving patient outcomes and quality of life.
