Abstract:
In September 2023, a 40-year-old female patients with correction failed mallet finger was admitted to Department of Hand and Foot Microsurgery, Nanjing Jiangbei Hospital. After comparing with different surgical options, the method of bundling bone fragment with double figure-of-eight suture was adopted to correct the failed mallet finger. At 3 months follow-up, the mallet finger deformity was corrected. The active extension function of the distal interphalangeal joint (DIPJ) of the affected finger was restored, the DIPJ straighten to 0°, and the appearance of the finger was satisfactory.
