- Abstract: Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) has become an important tool for the diagnosis and staging of fibrosis in metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), and its high diagnostic accuracy can help to effectively evaluate the dynamic changes and long-term prognosis of fibrosis in patients with MAFLD. In addition, MRE also shows wide potential in patient screening and outcome assessment in new drug development for metabolic-associated steatohepatitis. This article comprehensively analyzes the potential value of MRE in evaluating liver fibrosis in MAFLD patients, as well as its advantages in clinical practice and future development directions.
