Abstract: Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the most common type of primary liver cancer and one of the leading causes of cancer deaths worldwide. The incidence and lethality of HCC are on the rise, and its invasiveness and metastasis are the key factors affecting patients' prognosis. In recent years, studies in epigenetics have provided new perspectives to unravel the molecular mechanisms of HCC occurrence and development, and epigenetic alterations(such as histone modification and DNA methylation) are closely associated with various invasion and metastasis mechanisms in HCC. Therefore, this paper elucidates the epigenetic modifications and molecular mechanisms related to HCC invasion and metastasis, and explores the application of HCC epigenetic modifications in biomarkers, in order to provide valuable insights for the early diagnosis and treatment of HCC metastasis.
