Abstract:
Sinicohelea Yu, Wang and Tan new genus, with type-species Sinicoheleaa xuanjui Yu,Wang et Chen n. sp. from Hainan Island is described and illustrated, it differentiated from other genus of Ceratopogoninae with the following combination of characters. Eyes bare, palpus third segment some swollen, with sensilla scattered over much of basal surface. Wing hyaline, with single radial cell, veins M2, M3+4 and Cu2 absent. Legs fore tibial comb with 13 minima teeth, claws slender and equal on all legs, each talon with a powerful and short, blunt basal tooth. Hypopygium tergite 9 somewhat peach-shaped, sternite 9 with distinct rounded median caudal process and over aedeagus. The type specimens is deposited in the Collection of Medical Entomology of Beijing Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology.
