Abstract:
Objective To discuss the application of super-selective renal artery embolization in treating acute rupture bleeding of renal angiomyolipoma(RAML).Methods The clinical data of 13 patients with enhanced CT-proved RAML complicated by rupture bleeding and unstable hemodynamics, who received emergency super-selective renal artery embolization, were retrospectively analyzed. The preoperative and postoperative 7-day hemoglobin level, heart rate and blood pressure were compared. The postoperative symptoms and complications were recorded, and the effect of embolization was evaluated. Results Successful operation was achieved in 12 patients, and one patient died due to multiple organ failure secondary to hemorrhagic shock. The postoperative hemoglobin level, heart rate and blood pressure become better than their preoperative values, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05),indicating that the bleeding had stopped. The patients were followed up for 3 months after surgery, the renal function was normal and no further bleeding was observed. Conclusion For the treatment of acute rupture bleeding of RAML,super-selective renal artery embolization is clinically safe and effective, therefore, this therapy is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
