Abstract:
Objective To investigate the water quality of the army camps and warships of the coastal troops in Shandong province, and to find out and control the drinking water hazards affecting the health and safety of officers and soldiers. Methods Physical and chemical analyses and microbial testing were used to detect and evaluate the water quality of army camps and warships by combining laboratory testing and rapid detection. Results A total of 128 water samples were monitored in 28 units in the region,of which 51.6%were qualified and 48.4%were unqualified. The unqualified items were the total number of colonies, the total coliform, the heat-resistant coliform, and fluoride. The qualified rates of purified water, camp water and water-tank water were 72.7%,45.5%and 37.3%,respectively.There were significant differences in the total number of colonies and the qualified rate among different types of water samples(χ2=12.565,P<0.05).Conclusion Self-owned water sources and water storage equipment are the main factors affecting water quality. It is necessary to pay attention to microbiological indicators and take effective control measures for water quality.
