Abstract:
Objective To investigate the distribution of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)constitutions of offshore personnel of different categories and its correlation with health status.Methods The TCM constitution scale and sub-health measurement scale were used to assess TCM constitutions and health status of offshore personnel recuperating at Qingdao Special Service Sanatorium of Navy.And the results were statistically analyzed.Results There were 349(75.38%)persons with biased constitution among 463 interviewees.Damp-heat(20.83%),Yang deficiency(18.82%)and Yin deficiency(15.99%)were the common TCM constitutions.The TCM constitutions varied among different categories of offshore personnel.Yang deficiency and damp-heat were more common in surface warship crews and submarine crews.Aerial and land-based staffs were more prone to damp-heat and Yin deficiency.There were 293(63.28%)sub-healthy subjects among 463 interviewees,and 285(97.27%)of them had biased constitution.There was a significantly negative correlation between gentleness type and sub-health.Conclusion There is a relatively high proportion of offshore personnel with biased constitution and sub-health,and there is a significant correlation between biased constitution and sub-health.
