Effect of Bobath rehabilitation training on improving upper limb motor function in patients with shoulder-hand syndrome after stroke

Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of Bobath rehabilitation training on improving upper limb motor function in patients with shoulder-hand syndrome(SHS)after stroke.Methods A total of 110 SHS patients after stroke admitted to Nantong Third People's Hospital(Affiliated Nantong Hospital 3 of Nantong university)from April 2022 to January 2023 were selected as research objects by convenience sampling method.According to the random number method,the patients were divided into research group and control group,with 55 patients in each group.The patients in both groups received basic care.Routine rehabilitation exercise was conducted in the control group.Routine rehabilitation exercise plus Bobath rehabilitation training were given in the research group.Before and after the intervention,the Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA)score,the score of motion range of the shoulder,SHS scale(SHSS)score and the Ashworth grade were compared between the 2 groups.Results The FMA score and shoulder flexion,extension and abduction angles of the 2 groups after the intervention were significantly higher than those before the intervention,and the above-mentioned parameters in the research group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The SHSS scores of the 2 groups after intervention was significantly lower than those before intervention,and the SHSS score in the research group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05).Before intervention,there was no significant difference in the proportion of patients with different Ashworth grades between the 2 groups(P>0.05).After intervention,the proportion of patients with Ashworth grade 0-I+ in the research group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Bobath rehabilitation training for SHS patients after stroke can improve the upper limb function and the spasticity of the affected upper limb,and increase the range of motion of shoulder joint.
