Abstract:
Objective To investigate the relationship between hope level , personality feature and negative emotion in patients with primary liver cancer .Methods An investigation was made on the hope level , personality and anxiety and negative emotion in 128 patients with primary liver cancer from January 2015 to December 2015 by using Herth Hope Scale , Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ), Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS).The relationship between hope level , personality and negative emotion of primary liver cancer patients was analyzed by using Pearson Single -factor analysis .In accordance with EN di-mension scores of the EPQ , the primary liver cancer patients were divided into 4 groups:i.e.the inward-emotional stability group ( n=34), the inward-emotional instability group (n=38), the outward-emotional stability group (n=30) and the outward-emotional insta-bility group (n=26).Results Total scores of Herth Hope for the inward-emotional instability group and the inward-emotional stability group were lower than those of the outward-emotional stability group and the outward-emotional instability group (P<0.05), while the SAS scores and SDS scores were all higher than those of the outward stability group and the outward instability group (P<0.05).Pear-son univariate analysis indicated that total Herth Hope scores was negatively correlated with the P /N dimensions in the EPQ and SAS/SDS scores (P<0.05).Conclusion The hope level of the patients with liver cancer anxiety was closely correlated with personality , anxiety and depression .In addition to the concern about the anxiety and depression of liver cancer patients , nurses should have a com-prehensive assessment of personality feature of the cancer patients , so that related nursing intervention measures could be developed for further improvement of the hope level , anxiety and depression of the cancer patients .
