Effect of PDCA nursing combined with acupuncture on the relief of adverse reactions induced by chemotherapy following malignant glioma surgery

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the effects of PDCA nursing combined with acupuncture on the relief of adverse reactions induced by Di Qing chemotherapy and improvement of life quality,following malignant glioma surgery.Methods Sixty-four patients who displayed obvious adverse reactions following malignant glioma surgery combined with chemotherapy in our hospital from June 2014 to September 2015 were chosen as research subjects.They were randomly divided into the experimental and control groups,each consisting of 32 patients.The control group received routine care,while the experimental group was given PDCA nursing care combined with acupuncture,with 60 days a treatment course.After three courses of treatment,nursing effects were observed,and occurrence of adverse reactions and various scores of life quality were compared between the 2 groups.Results Following nursing intervention,such gastrointestinal and blood system adverse reactions as myelosuppression and vomiting of the experimental group were obviously less severer than those of the control group,and statistical significance could be seen when comparisons were made between the 2 groups (P ＜0.05).After nursing intervention,the scores of somatic function,social function,role of the state,mental health,physical strength and energy of the observation group were significantly superior to those of the control group,also with statistical significance (P ＜0.05).Conclusion Following malignant glioma surgery,the application of PDCA nursing to those patients with radiotherapy combined with Di Qing chemotherapy could obviously reduce adverse reactions,and facilitate quick recovery of the patients,which was worth further clinical extension.
