Abstract:
Objective To study the distribution and drug sensitivity of Escherichia coli so as to provide evidences for clinical us-age of antibacterial agents. Methods Samples of infective patients were collected for pathogenic bacterial separation, culture and drug sensi-tivity tests, and ESBL was studied by VITEK 2 Compact. Results Of the 694 strains of Escherichia coli, the highest rate of isolation was from the urine sample(47.6%), and the positive rate of ESBLs was 60.8%.ESBLs positive strains seemed to have relatively high resistance to ampicillin, ampicillin/sulbactam, cefotetan, ceftazidime, cefatriaxone, cefepime, ciprofloxacin and trimethoprim and sulphame-thoxazole, and ESBLs negative strains displayed to have lower resistance to most antimicrobial agents. Conclusion Escherichia coli producing ESBLs seemed to have higher antimicrobial rate, and close attention should be paid to the detection of ESBL-producing strains of Escherichia coli.
