Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of the improved compression hemostasis on postsurgical hemorrhage following femoral arterial puncture. Methods One hundred patients who underwent intervention through femoral arterial puncture were randomly divided into the control group treated with conventional compression hemostasis and the observation group treated with improved com-pression hemostasis, each consisting of 50 patients.Bleeding time, amount of hemorrhage, incidence of the subcutaneous hemorrhage as well as comfort of the patient were observed closely, the derived results were compared with the pain scores after surgery. Results The bleeding time and the amount of hemorrhage of the observation group were significantly decreased as compared with those of the con-trolled group, and the incidence of subcutaneous hemorrhage for the observation group was lower than that of the control group. In addi-tion, the satisfaction and pain scores for the patients of the observation group were significantly superior to those of the control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusion The improved compression hemostasis could efficiently reduce the bleeding time, the amount of hemorrhage and incidence of hematoma at the puncture point of femoral artery after surgery, alleviate pain and improve comfort. For this reason, it was an effective compression hemostasis method.
