Abstract:
Objective To investigate the effect of standardized nursing intervention on the alleviation of pain in cancer pa-tients.Methods Sixty cancer patients who sought medical care in the Oncology Department of our hospital from January 2014 to Janu-ary 2015 were recruited for the study by the convenient sampling method. Then, the pre and post self-control studies were conducted and divided into 2 stages. The first stage was from day 1 to day 12 after the patients were admitted to the hospital, during which they re-ceived routine cancer care. The second stage was from day 13 to day 24, when the patients received standardized nursing in addition to routine nursing.Pain control disorder, worst pain scores, pain duration, self-efficiency, etc.were observed closely. Results The total scores of pain control disorder, the worst pain scores, the average pain scores, pain duration, daily morphine dosage, self-efficacy scores for the patients at the end of the second stage were respectively 1.85 ±0.80, 3.84 ±1.30, 2.55 ±1.15, (3.60 ±1.45) hours, (73.17 ± 22.10) mg and 73.87 ±10.73, which were all significantly better than those indictors of the patients at the first stage, and there was sig-nificant difference when comparisons were made between the 2 stages (P<0.05).The total scores of pain control disorder, the worst pain scores, the average pain scores and pain duration were negatively correlated with the patients′self-efficacy (P<0.05), while the daily morphine dosage was positively correlated with the patients′self-efficacy (P<0.05).Conclusion Standardized nursing could enhance patients′self-efficacy, effectively promote patients′pain control, and improve patients′physical and mental status considerably.
