Abstract:
Objective To investigate the distribution of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome types in the patients with stuffiness-fullness disease(disorders with the sensation of stuffiness and fullness in the chest or epigastrium but without pain)and the medication rules of Chinese herbal medicines in treating stuffiness-fullness disease by the data mining method,so as to provide a reference basis for the TCM diagnosis and treatment of stuffiness-fullness disease.Methods Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Computing System(TCMICS)V3.5 was used for the statistical analysis of the medical case data of outpatients with stuffiness-fullness disease from the Department of Spleen and Stomach Diseases of Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2023 to January 2024.The advanced data mining algorithms of TCMICS V3.5 were used to explore the distribution of TCM syndrome types of stuffiness-fullness disease and the medication rules of Chinese herbal medicines in the treatment of stuffiness-fullness disease.Results(1)A total of 387 cases that met the criteria were included for analysis,and the patients were usually differentiated as the TCM syndrome types of spleen deficiency and qi stagnation syndrome,spleen and stomach weakness syndrome,spleen deficiency and dampness accumulation syndrome,which accounted for 21.45%(83/387),14.99%(58/387),and 14.99%(58/387),respectively.The high-frequency Chinese herbal medicines for the treatment of stuffiness-fullness disease were ginger-prepared Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis,Poria,Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle,sliced Codonopsis Radix,and Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium.Most of the Chinese herbal medicines for stuffiness-fullness disease were warm and sweet in the properties and flavors,and had the meridian tropism of the spleen meridian,stomach meridian and the lung meridian.The Apriori association rule algorithm achieved the top three core drug combinations,and they were ginger-prepared Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis-Poria,Poria-Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle,and ginger-prepared Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis-Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle.A total of four new prescriptions of Chinese herbal medicines for stuffiness-fullness disease were obtained after cluster analysis.Conclusion It is revealed that the main pathogenesis of stuffiness-fullness disease is due to qi deficiency of spleen and stomach complicated with water-dampness and qi stagnation,and the disease is characterized by deficiency in the origin and excess in the superficiality,usually with the mixture of deficiency and stagnation.For the treatment of stuffiness-fullness disease,therapies of invigorating spleen and replenishing qi are frequently adopted,and herbs for activating qi,resolving phlegm,and drying dampness can be flexibly chosen according to the specific syndromes,thus to treat both of the deficiency syndrome and excess syndrome.
