Abstract:
Objective:To sort out relevant literature on the treatment of dry eye with TCM; To macro control the current research hotspots and development trends in this field. Methods:The literature on the treatment of dry eye with TCM was retrieved from CNKI from January 1, 2011 to June 30, 2024. Excel 2019 was used to analyze the annual number of publications in this field. CiteSpace 6.2.2 software was used to analyze the co-occurrence of authors and institutions, as well as the co-occurrence, clustering, timeline axis and burst analysis of keywords. Results:A total of 1 189 articles were included. The overall number of publications was on the rise. The core research force in this field was mainly distributed in TCM colleges and universities. The institution with the most publications was Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, and the author with the most publications was Peng Qinghua from Hunan University of Chinese Medicine. Keyword clustering analysis obtained 17 clusters, and the research hotspots could be roughly summarized as pathogenesis, TCM syndrome type, clinical efficacy, TCM external treatment, artificial tears, nursing research, etc. The research frontier was the transformation and application of TCM research results, the improvement mechanism of eye surface function, and the research paradigm towards data mining and research progress review. Conclusions:The research on the treatment of dry eyes with TCM mainly focuses on oral administration of Chinese materia medica, fumigation of Chinese materia medica, acupuncture and moxibustion, and acupoint massage. The methodology of dry eye treatment in TCM is constantly enriched, and the experience of famous doctors and the rules of prescriptions and treatment based on data mining have become a new hotspot. The lack of cooperation between the authors and institutions has limited the development of this field to some extent. In the future, a multi-center collaborative network across regions and institutions should be established.
