Abstract:
Due to its high immunogenicity and tumor specificity, tumor neoantigen has emerged as an important target for tumor immunotherapy. The capacity of microorganisms to modulate the immune system, thereby activating neoantigen-specific T cells and utilizing the phenomenon of molecular mimicry, underscores their potential for broad application in the development of cancer vaccines. In this review, the mechanisms of action of microorganisms in neoantigen immunotherapy were examined, and the applications of bacteria and their derivatives, viral vectors, and fungal vectors in delivering tumor neoantigens were summarized. The significance of microorganisms in tumor neoantigen immunotherapy was underscored, and a reference for future research and clinical application was provided.
