Abstract:
Patients with acute stroke may experience complications such as increased intracranial pressure. Early monitoring and timely management of intracranial pressure can help improve outcome. The optic nerve is anatomically connected to the intracranial region, and the diameter of the optic nerve sheath measured by ultrasound can be one of the non-invasive methods for non-invasive monitoring of intracranial pressure. This article reviews the principle of measuring the diameter of the optic nerve sheath using ultrasound and its application in patients with acute stroke, with the hope of providing some reference for future research and clinical practice.
