Abstract:
Saccharomyces boulardii is a widely researched probiotic belonging to the Saccharomyces cerevisiae species.This strain has been employed as a probiotic for more than half a century，chiefly for its functions in adjusting the equilibrium of gut microbiota，neutralizing toxins，modulating immunity，and offering nutritional sustenance.Research indicates that Saccharomyces boulardii demonstrates substantial therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease，irritable bowel syndrome，diarrhea，and additional diseases.As a pivotal probiotic，Saccharomyces boulardii possesses significant potential for both practical application and scientific inquiry.This review endeavors to encapsulate the advancements in investigating the actions and mechanisms of Saccharomyces boulardii in preserving gut homeostasis and managing gut pathologies，with the aspiration of furnishing novel perspectives for the prophylaxis and therapy of a wider spectrum of gut maladies，thereby propelling individualized and precise treatments for associated conditions.
