Abstract:
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD),a common chronic respiratory disease caused by multiple factors, can seriously affect the quality of life and prognosis of prematurity.A variety of factors, including infection and oxidative stress, can contribute to the development of BPD in prematurity.Interleukin 6(IL-6),as an important cytokine that activates various signal cascades and participates in many physiological processes in the body,is currently considered to be one of the independent risk factors for the development of BPD in prematurity. The IL-6-related signal pathways, represented by JAK/STAT,can play an important role in the development of BPD through various pathways such as lung injury, pulmonary angiogenesis, proliferation and apoptosis of epithelial cells, and ferroptosis. This article reviews the studies on the mechanism of IL-6-related signal pathways in BPD,which will provide possible new targets for its treatment in BPD in the future.
