Abstract:
As a new type of carbon-based nano-fluorescent material, carbon dots have many advantages such as excellent optical properties, good biocompatibility, low toxicity and easy surface functionalization. Fluorescent sensors based on carbon dots have attracted wide attention in detection of heavy metal ions. This article first introduced the commonly used methods for synthesizing carbon dots, and then elaborated on the possible mechanism of carbon dots-based fluorescence sensors for detecting heavy metal ions, including static quenching effect, dynamic quenching effect, fluorescence resonance energy transfer, internal filtering effect, photo induced electron transfer, etc. Then,it focused on the research status of carbon dots-based fluorescence sensors in detection of heavy metal ions such as Fe3+,Fe2+,Cu2+,Cd2+,Pb2+,Cr6+,Au3+and Hg2+,etc,both domestically and internationally. Finally, the further research directions in this field was pointed out.
