Abstract:
Bethune Spirit, as a precious spiritual wealth for global healthcare workers, provides extremely valuable resources for medical students’ ideological and political education. This spirit encompasses rich connotations in multiple dimensions, including a firm belief in communism, a lofty internationalist spirit, a professional attitude of striving for excellence, and a noble quality of selfless dedication. Bethune Spirit is of great value for realizing the educational mission of “cultivating virtue and nurturing talents” in medical colleges and universities, and cultivating new-era “five-skilled” medical talents with an international vision and awareness of a community with a shared future for mankind. To deepen the comprehensive integration of the Bethune Spirit into medical students’ ideological and political education, efforts should be made in four aspects, including classroom teaching, practical training, technological strengthening, and environmental optimization. By integrating classroom teaching and practical activities, improving the level of technological application, optimizing the campus cultural environment, and other paths, high-quality medical talents with an international vision and community consciousness can be cultivated for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
