Abstract:
Tuberculosis(TB), a chronic wasting infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis(Mtb), has become a major challenge to global public health, with increasing morbidity and mortality. Accelerating the development of new TB vaccines is a top priority as the only effective vaccine used for prevention, the Bacillus Calmette-Guérin(BCG) vaccine,offers very limited protection to adults. This paper reviewed the development status of several TB candidate vaccines in clinical trials, providing reference for the subsequent vaccine research and development and further prevention and control of TB.
