Abstract:
Various prosthetic treatment methods are available for addressing tooth loss in the oral cavity, with implant-based prosthetic treatments gaining significant popularity. The criteria for determining the success or failure of dental implants remain a topic of ongoing debate. Over the last 50 years, implant success has been evaluated based on survival rates, radiographic bone loss, mobility, probing depth, the absence of infection in the peri-implant soft tissues, and prosthesis success. Albrektsson et al. and Buser et al. established widely accepted criteria for assessing implant success, focusing on identifying clinical evidence necessary for demonstrating successful osseointegration and implant survival. This study aimed to systematically review and categorize various research findings on the criteria for dental implant success, examine the associated success rates of dental implants, and discuss the most recent standards for determining dental implant success.
