Abstract:
This article reported four cases of abdominal cocoon syndrome (ACS) complicated by pregnancy. Two cases were discovered during cesarean section for natural conception, one with type Ⅰ and one with type Ⅲ ACS. Two cases were diagnosed with ACS type Ⅲ through laparoscopic exploration due to infertility and later conceived via assisted reproductive technology. Three patients experienced recurrent nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain during the entire pregnancy, which were effectively managed with conservative treatments such as gastrointestinal decompression and nutritional support. Two patients had significantly elevated C-reactive protein levels upon admission. All four patients terminated their pregnancies via cesarean section, with no special treatment for ACS during surgery. One case involved bladder rupture during cesarean section, which was repaired, and the catheter was removed one month postoperatively. Follow-up for six months showed good maternal and infant outcomes.
