Abstract:
With the help of cutting-edge technology such as immunodetection applications, accumulating evidence has implied that immune etiology is involved in the pathogenesis of epilepsy. It is of great significance for clinicians to get familiar with clinical characteristics of autoimmune epilepsy (AE), and the early identification of AE and the timely implementation of targeted immunotherapy are essential to offer best outcome. At present, in the absence of standardized diagnostic and therapeutic guidelines in China, this paper provides a comprehensive update on the current knowledge of the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of AE, guiding the effective management of AE.
