Abstract:
Cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic(CKM) syndrome encapsulates the intricate interplay among obesity, diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, and cardiovascular diseases. This concept reflects a deeper understanding of their interconnection, and provides a foundation for research, though challenges remain in establishing diagnostic criteria and clinical applicability. Addressing the syndrome from its root causes could simplify management by targeting key factors that influence the broader condition. This article examines the relationships among type 2 diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and chronic kidney disease, and discusses the definition and naming of CKM, aiming to offer practical guidance for clinical practice.
