Abstract: Autoimmune diabetes includes type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM)and latent autoimmune diabetes in adult(LADA),which are characterized by islet β cell destruction caused by islet antigen-specific T cell attack.Fatty acids metabolism might play an important role in the development of diabetes.n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids have been found to play protective effects on the development of autoimmune diabetes.This article reviews the research progress of fatty acid metabolism and autoimmune diabetes.
