Abstract:
Objective:To explore the application effect of dual coping theory combined with empowerment theory in nursing intervention of young and middle-aged patients with postoperative chemotherapy for breast cancer and their spouses. Methods:Using the convenient sampling method, a total of 86 pairs of young and middle-aged breast cancer patients with postoperative chemotherapy and their spouses in Taizhou First People's Hospital from October 2020 to October 2022 were selected as the research objects. They were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, with 43 pairs in each group. The control group implemented routine nursing intervention, while the observation group implemented nursing intervention based on dual coping theory combined with empowerment theory. Resilience Scale (RISC), Function Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast Cancer (FACT-B) and the Chinese version of Quality of Life Questionnaire for Cancer Caregivers (CQOLC-C) were used to evaluate the intervention effects. Results:After intervention, RISC and FACT-B scores of breast cancer patients in the the observation group were higher than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). After intervention, RISC and CQOLC-C scores of spouses of breast cancer patients in observation group were higher than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:Dual coping theory combined with empowerment theory can enhance the psychological resilience of young and middle-aged breast cancer patients and their spouses after chemotherapy and improve their quality of life.
