Abstract:
Objective:To investigate the current situation of economic toxicity of urinary system tumor patients and analyze its influencing factors, so as to provide basis for reducing the economic toxicity of urinary system tumor patients. Methods:From October 2021 to April 2022, 320 patients with urinary system tumors in the Urology Surgery of Henan Provincial People's Hospital were selected by convenience sampling. Patients were surveyed using self-made General Information Questionnaires, the Comprehensive Scores for Financial Toxicity (COST), the 7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale, and the Family Adaptability, Partnership, Growth, Affection, and Resolve (Family APGAR). Multiple linear regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of economic toxicity of urinary system tumor patients. A total of 320 questionnaires were distributed, and 308 valid questionnaires were collected, with an effective response rate of 96.25% (308/320) .Results:The total COST score of 308 patients with urinary system tumors was (21.72 ± 6.66). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that medical expenses, family function, per capita monthly income of family, years of disease diagnosis, anxiety, and medical insurance type were the influencing factors of economic toxicity of urinary system tumor patients ( P<0.05), accounting for 46.8% of the total variation. Conclusions:Urinary system tumor patients generally have economic toxicity. Clinical medical workers should actively carry out the assessment and screening of economic toxicity of urinary system tumor patients, provide supportive services and care for patients, alleviate anxiety, improve family functions, and guide patients to adopt positive coping styles to reduce the level of economic toxicity.
