Abstract:
Objective:To explore the effects of family-based voluntary exercise on exercise capacity, mood and quality of life of patients with lung cancer. Methods:Totally 160 patients with lung cancer who underwent surgery and chemotherapy in Cancer Hospital of China Medical University from June 2016 to March 2019 were selected by convenient sampling. All patients underwent two cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery. Patients in the control group received routine care, while patients in the experimental group did family-based exercise for 3 months 1 week after surgery based on the routine care for the control group. The exercise capacity, respiratory function, anxiety, depression and quality of life scores 3 month after surgery were compared between the two groups. Results:After nursing intervention, the forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) and the percentage of FEV1 in forced vital capacity (FVC) in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group; the 6-minute walking distance of the experimental group was longer than that of the control group; the Self-Anxiety Scale (SAS) score of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group, and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant ( P<0.01) . Conclusions:Family-based voluntary exercise can enhance the respiratory function of patients with lung cancer, increase the 6-minute walking distance, and improve patients' anxiety.
