Abstract:
Objective:To explore the real self-management of patients with chronic heart failure in rural areas so as to provide a basis for the development of targeted intervention program. Methods:From January 2019 to July 2019, we selected 20 rural patients with chronic heart failure who were hospitalized in the Department of Cardiovascular in a ClassⅢ Grade A hospital as the research objects by purposive sampling. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the method of phenomenological research and by live recording, and then Colaizzi's seven-step method was used for data analysis to refine the theme. Results:Among those rural patients with chronic heart failure, the experience of self-management could be summed up into 4 themes including vague cognition of self-management, unwillingness to seek help from family members, depression due to labor force decline and ineffective remote doctor-nurse contact. Conclusions:In view of the current situation that rural patients with chronic heart failure lack the ability of disease self-management, we should analyze the main reasons for the lack of self-management ability in the actual guidance process so as to provide targeted support and effectively improve the self-management efficiency of patients.
