Abstract:
Objective:To study the current situation and demand degree of laws and regulations education for clinical nurses. Methods:From December 2018 to February 2019, a total of 430 nurses from 8 tertiary general hospitals in Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Changsha and Binzhou were selected as the survey subjects by the convenient sampling method. A self-designed questionnaire on the current situation and demand degree of law and regulation education for clinical nurses was used to investigate them. A total of 430 questionnaires were distributed, and 405 valid questionnaires were recovered.Results:89.6% (363/405) of nurses agreed that there were legal issues at every stage of nursing. 88.9% (360/405) nurses received education or training in laws and regulations and 90.4% (366/405) nurses' units had education or training in relevant laws and regulations. 97.0% (393/405) of clinical nurses indicated that they still extremely needed or needed knowledge about health laws and regulations and 86.6% (351/405) nurses believed that re-education of laws and regulations was very important or important. Clinical nurses expected that the most way to obtain the knowledge of laws and regulations was hospital continuing education. Conclusions:Clinical nurses have a relatively high level of legal awareness and they generally have received education and training in laws and regulations, but their education degree is not enough. Clinical nurses have a higher awareness degree of the importance and demand for continuing education of laws and regulations, so they should actively carry out legal knowledge education and training in hospitals.
